Ans– India achieved Independence after years of struggle from the British rule on 15 August 1947.Therefore, we celebrate this day every year as the National festival Day with much joy and merrily.

Ans- On 15 August, 1947,the prime minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru, raised the Indian National flag above the Lahori gate of Red Fort in Delhi. Every prime minister has followed that tradition ever than after, the state head and all the Indians in their workplace.
3.Where is the national flag hoisted?
Ans- First of all,the national flag hoisted by the Prime Minister at Red Fort and head of each state and is hoisted at railway stations, colleges, schools, post offices etc.
4.What usually happens in the evening on Independence Day?
Ans- In the evening on Independence Day there are beautiful illuminations on many public buildings. Crowds of people including children go eagerly to see the lights and also some people host party at their home.

Ans- Mr. and Mrs. Desai celebrate the day by hosting a party at their home.
